General Description:

From a geological point of view, the area belongs to the Wallachian platform (the northern part of the Moesian Platform). The base of the platform, consisting of mesometamorphic crystalline shale (Lower Proterozoic) suffered tilting movements which led to marine transgressions and regressions that generated four major cycles of sedimentation. The deposit was formed in the final part of the fourth cycle of sedimentation (upper Quaternary). The thickness of the ballast layer ranges between 5.00 m and 17.50 m
Mining operations are carried out based on the exploitation license no. 3318/2002 under publication in the Official Journal.
Slatina perimeter consists of two sectors: the northern sector with an area of 1.447 sq km, the southern sector with an area of 0.736 sq. km.
The mining method is based on suction dredging, with pipeline transport of the slime to the dewatering wheel. The sorting station is equipped with two sorting lines, with two vibrating screens, each screen having two sieves.
Slatina perimeter is located within “Natura 2000” site - ROSPA0106 lower Olt Valley. This site is home to important protected bird species
