Breathing Life Into Barren Ground : Site Preparation

Before any seed touches the soil, the foundation must be right.

Our restoration journey began by transforming a bare quarry floor into a seedbed of hope. We carefully filled the site with topsoil — sourced from nearby unextracted land rich in native seedbanks. This wasn't just dirt; it was a layer full of life, holding the potential for natural regeneration.

To further support restoration, we established earth bunds across the 35×35m plot at 2-meter intervals. These small mounds play a big role: they reduce water runoff, trap moisture, and anchor seeds, creating microhabitats perfect for germination.

This is more than preparation — it’s restoration in motion. Every bund is a barrier against erosion and a pathway to green recovery.
