HOW TO MEASURE PHOTOSYNTHESIS?
First, select approximately 3-4 mature leaves of medium size from the plant and attach clips to them. The purpose of these clips is to keep a specific area of the plant in darkness for a period of 30 minutes. When this procedure is applied to needle-leaved plants, 3-4 needles that are close to each other are brought together to cover the opening of the clip. After half an hour, the light-emitting head of the photosynthesis measurement device is attached to the clip by pressing the device’s button. By sliding open the clip, light is briefly applied to the leaf. In this way, the instantaneous rate of photosynthesis is measured.
