This is one of the species of megabats that are distributed widely in Africa as in the forest and across the savannah vegetation. They are feeding habit involves the fruits as the member of the Pteropodidae.
Their population trend is decreasing due to a decline in the number of adult individuals. The decline may be caused by heavy harvesting of bush meat (as in the west and central Africa). Deforestation has also influenced their decline as a result to the loss of habitat for roosting and foraging area
NOTE; All individuals were safely removed from the traps and released back to their environment. None of the individuals were taken for the preservation.
