Hotel Open for Buzziness ....🛎️🪲🦗🪳🦟✨

🌿🐞 We've had a busy week at hashtag#BattsCombe hashtag#Quarry building a bug hotel in the shape of a lorry for our entry to Heidelberg Materials' Quarry Life Award! 🌿🏆 with hashtag#AxeValleyMenShed and Somerset Earth Science Centre. 🚛🚛🚛

We’re thrilled to be taking part in the 6th Edition of the hashtag#QuarryLifeAwards at @Heidelberg Materials, a global celebration of biodiversity and community innovation. 🌍💡

hashtag#AxeValleyMenShed is proud to support this initiative with our project: “The Bug Big Build” 🛠️🏨

We’ve desiged and installed a hashtag#BugHotel right in the quarry car park , creating a safe, welcoming habitat for our tiny but mighty pollinators and decomposers. 🐜🦋🕷️

It's all about 🐛 BUGS! 🐛

We've explored the site, shared ideas, and discussed how to make sure we’re building the right environment to support local biodiversity. 🌱🌼

Our team is buzzing with creativity and enthusiasm as we bring this unique habitat to life, providing a safe haven for our local insects and promoting biodiversity. 🐞🦋🐜

The outer main structure is now complete, and we spent the early part of this week putting the structure of it together in the car park at Batts Combe Quarry in Cheddar, Somerset. 🐝🪲 Our next step will be to make open boxes that slide in and out of the main structure, which we can fill with materials that the bugs will love and be attracted to. 🐛🦗
