Replay the QLA Award ceremony

The first edition of Quarry Life Award revealed outstanding teams of passionate researchers, teachers, students and NGOs. Their meticulous work together with the involvement of our
national QLA coordinators proved to be highly successful and reached out local communities, and authorities. This initiative clearly set the benchmark for other similar companies in many countries and also received several awards by NGOs.

In her keynote speech, Dr Jane Goodall said “Because I’m travelling, I can learn about projects like HeidelbergCement’s one. It’s that and meeting young people all around the world, who all share the same sense of hope and determination, that give me hope”.

The implementation of participating projects is another key step to merit this success . “I only felt the real success when we could put the results of our study into the practice, and this was just after finishing the report”, concluded the first international winner from Czech Republic.
