Presentation of Our Current Situation and Research

After our quarry visit, we came together as a team to brainstorm about the knowledge we had gained. We did not only take notes of our observations during the visit but also supported them with research from various sources in order to create a stronger content. As a result of these efforts, we prepared a presentation for the next stage of the competition.

On August 11, we had the opportunity to share our presentation with the Akçansa team as well as the jury member, Klára Řehounková. During the presentation, we conveyed both the experiences we had gained from the quarry visit and the activities we had carried out beforehand to raise environmental awareness, thus presenting a comprehensive evaluation of our process. In this way, we were able to reflect not only technical knowledge but also the preparatory work we carried out as a team.

Following our presentation, we received valuable feedback on the points we should focus on and the areas where we should further expand our research. One of the most striking pieces of feedback for us was gaining the perspective that the impact of quarries on biodiversity can be not only negative but, in some cases, also positive. This new perspective showed us the importance of approaching the topic in a more impartial and in-depth way.

By combining these insights with our own research, we are now preparing to take the next step in a more informed manner. In the upcoming period, we are especially excited to develop educational materials aimed at raising biodiversity awareness among high school students. In this way, we aim both to advance in the competition and to foster stronger environmental awareness among younger generations.
