Bee hotels as an alternative method to boost pollination and biodiversity
Ecosystem dynamics involve very intricate and complex relationships. In this context, the pollination service appears as an important dynamic and affects many trophic levels in the ecosystem. The success of the pollination service positively affects the populations of many components in the ecosystem. In this context, pollinators are important components of ecosystem health. This is because the presence of pollinators ensures pollination processes and thus the enrichment of ecosystem components. For example, the presence of bees and butterflies as pollinators positively affects the richness and abundance of plants in the environment, as well as the richness and abundance of birds. Therefore, protecting and enhancing pollinators provides a positive approach to ecosystem health and dynamics.
This project proposal aims to use bee hotels to enrich the weakened ecosystem dynamics in quarry areas. The use of bee hotels will not only provide shelter for pollinators, but also monitor the current situation in the area. In this respect, the project proposal will both increase the number of pollinating bees in the area thanks to the bee hotels and determine the health of the ecosystem in terms of insects by monitoring the area.
