Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) to detect the occurrence of key bird species and assess bird diversity in Citeureup Quarry
PT Indocement is committed to biodiversity conservation in the quarry by conducted routine bird monitoring using traditional method like point count. The method is valuable but, they have limitations. To address these, we will incorporate Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) into the existing biodiversity monitoring program at Citeureup Quarry.
PAM will help to detect key bird species like the Oriental Honey-buzard, Flame-fronted Barbet, Javan Banded Pitta, and Spotted Kestrel; and assess overall bird diversity and community composition.
By combining PAM with traditional methods, we aim to gain a more comprehensive understanding of bird diversity and contribute to effective conservation strategies.
