The impact of quarry operations on local pollinator populations; strategies for conservation and habitat enhancement

Local pollinator are animals that ensure sustainability and abundance of various species of plant since they move pollen from the male anther of a flower to the female stigma of a flower hence helps to bring about fertilization of the ovules in the flower by the male gametes from the pollen grain. Since there is abundance and intensive restoration activities and participation of local communities awareness of biodiversity within and around wazo Hill Quarry, there is need to assess the ongoing quarrying activities how would affect local pollinators in already restored area and habitat loss in order for the animal that carry pollen from flower to flower within the area to take place smoothly. Those activities include noise and vibration, dust and air pollution.
