the "réserve du Domaine" - training support for professionals
The former alluvial quarry at Pont-à-Mousson in Meurthe-et-Moselle was briefly classified as a Voluntary Nature Reserve before this status was abandoned in the 2000s. Since then, integrated into a ZNIEFF (Zone Naturelle d'Intérêt Ecologique, Faunistique et Floristique) and an ENS (Espace Naturel Sensible), this area, now known as “la réserve du Domaine”, is co-managed by a number of stakeholders with the aim of preserving its biodiversity. The Neomys association has been a member of the management committee for almost 25 years.
The wealth of flora and fauna on this site, and the management methods implemented, make the “Réserve du Domaine” a remarkable site to be promoted. The Neomys association, which nevertheless wishes to preserve the site's tranquility, is planning to develop it to host training courses for professionals from Heidelberg Materials, its subsidiaries and partners, as well as from other companies who could then study how to better take biodiversity into account on their own operating sites.
