Transformation of Ladik Limestone Quarry into a Grassland and Pasture Ecosystem and Integration of Small Ruminant Farming with Antimethanogenic Grassland and Pasture Forages

This project aims to restore the Ladik limestone field to nature by transforming it into a grassland and pasture ecosystem. The forage plants to be planted in the area will support the nutrition of small ruminants, while being selected from special grass and pasture species that have the potential to reduce methane emissions from ruminants. The project will not only contribute to the regional economy by promoting sustainable livestock farming but also support the fight against climate change through environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Ruminants contribute to global warming by releasing methane, a potent greenhouse gas, during their digestive processes. In this project, the use of forage plants that result in lower methane emissions will reduce the environmental impact of livestock farming. Additionally, the Ladik Limestone Field will be reintroduced to nature as grassland and pasture.
