The rehabilitated area at Wazo hill quarry supports this specie behavior in terms of feeding, nesting, breeding; Bronze Mannikin specie are very social, they dwell in groups and one nest can be used by over 15 specie of them. They nest in variety of trees found at quarry replanted area ( Tress species yet to be assessed in May) and they prefer tree areas with wasps, as a defence mechanism against the enemy/ Predators (Picture number 2, Shows a nest in which wasps were surrounding the nest) , henceforth builds their nests there. They feed on Grain and Wild grass seeds inside quarry. It is Native to Mainland Africa
