For several weeks we are working now in the quarry inventorying the diverse bee and wasp fauna. We discovered more than 40 species so far and the jewel wasps are definitely the most colourful discoveries of your team. The species on the picture Chrysis viridula (photographed by Oliver Hallas) is very colourful and it is a parasitoid of another interesting observation the endangered spiny mason wasp (Odynerus spinipes). More about this species later. We are looking forward to many more fantastic species.
