The schoolkids got the opportunity to deal with owls for a whole day. They could see and carefully touch preparations of owls. To figure, which owl fits the most to the shape of each kid, all kids could measure their wing length and compare it to the fitting owl type. Afterwards everybody created their own mask also fitting to their owl character. In the end, the kids became researcher in examining real casts (a gift from the local falconer). Therefore, they could realise, which animals the owls had for dinner. Of course all kids of the group knew where to find the eagle owl of Lengfurt. It lives in the given up quarry "Locksberg" of Heidelberg Cement. This area is a very important secondary habitat for the region.
