They were gathered from the palm farms. The maize stalks could also be accessed from farms close to the quarry since most farmers treat them as waste after harvest. The strong and famous bamboo sticks were also found in farms around the quarry. The elephant grass, serving as the black sheep in this case, was very difficult to access. It is not easily found around the community of the quarry. Team mates therefore had to travel to the next two towns to gain access to the elephant grass.
On the 5th day of the first site visit, the design and construction of the geotextiles began.
