On the area of KSM Ruda, we are dealing with a reservoir created after the exploitation of mineral resources. However, in Goczałkowice the reservoir has a retention function.

During our trip, we focused on observing animals, plants and landscapes at different times of the day. We started the meeting with filling in the ecological questionnaire and discussing the correct answers. Then there was a lecture on threats to nature and actions that can counteract negative trends. The purpose of this activity was to share knowledge about the natural environment.

In the next part, the participants of the trip were divided into 4 groups. The parents and guardians of the children were supposed to analyze what may be harmful to nature and what contributes to the improvement of the environmental conditions. The youngest participants made posters about birds and insects.

After the theoretical part, it was time for fieldwork. During the walk, we observed the behavior of black-headed gulls, common terns, barn swallows and common house martins. The participants learned about the relationships between different species and how the birds living by the water find their food. The last point was a boat trip on the reservoir. During it, the role of water in nature was discussed.

This form of classes makes people perceive the world as coherent. Contact with nature builds greater social sensitivity and allows us to understand that every organism has the right to live.
