Terrestrial fauna at the Ladik quarry
Although it is stated that the activities carried out in the quarries have a negative impact on biodiversity, in reality, quarries offer a significant potential for the development of biodiversity. Therefore, it is very valuable to understand the biodiversity in a quarry, to highlight the importance of biodiversity in that area, and to understand how it will contribute to the biodiversity of the country.
The terrestrial fauna in the Ladik Limestone Quarry will be determined, high density species occurrence sites will be identified, and effective management models will be proposed to protect the terrestrial fauna and/or certain conservation priority species in the area. In the implementation phase of this project, the terrestrial fauna in the Ladik quarry will be identified, an inventory will be prepared, the species will be photographed and the threat categories and conservation status of the species will be determined. Thus, the species and the high ecological value areas will be identified, and necessary management activities will be planned. The quarry staff will be informed about the biodiversity in the area to raise awareness.
